Questions & Answers for the 21st Century
- Q1.
- When I travel on a business trip that lasts more than five days or go to a weekend convention, I often have a problem finding a Church of my denomination on Sunday. Why is it so important to go to Church when I am away from home?
- A1.
- It is best to plan which Church you will attend on Sunday before you leave on a trip, either for business or with your family. Use directory and Chamber of Commerce assistance, the telephone, hotel listings, the internet, Yellow pages of the phone book, and maps. The purpose for going to Church when you are at home and when you are traveling is:
(because you love God and want to go to Church)(the Sabbath was made for man - Mark 2:27):
1.To worship God with other people. To sing and to praise God, and to receive a blessing.
2.To pray alone and with other people to God.
3.To become Holy.
4.To give a testimony that you are a Christian who loves the Lord.
5.To celebrate and receive Holy Communion.
6.To visualize the glory of Heaven.
7.To hear the word of God in a way that will inspire you and other people.
8.To study the word of God.
9.To have fellowship with other Christian saints and be in the presence of angels.
- Q2.
- In my company, they have a strict policy against displaying religious literature at work and against discussing anything Christian. How do I spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ at work?
- A2.
- First, make sure that you do your job in an exemplary manner and seek perfection in your work. Second, try to take advantage of certain things that have a dual purpose. Be creative. For example, display a calendar in your cubicle or office that displays religious art works or one that displays bible quotes. Wear Jewelery that shows a cross, etc. Moreover, install a screen saver on your PC(if it is allowed) that shows Religious or Bible sceens. Third, when you notice unChristian behavior or someone discussing something that is against Christianity, you have the responsibility of correcting the bad behavior or saying what is correct. You must do this in a tactful manner. Fourth, you can always meet with someone after work, to have a deep discussion about being a Christian and what your beliefs are. Fifth, be careful not to get into trouble with your employer, because God put you there to interact with other people and spread the Gospel. Lastly, remember harassment is not appropriate at work.
- Q3.
- How do I become Holy.
- A3.
- Heaven is a perfect place, where we will met God. Holiness is required to dwell there. Use the following steps to achieve Holiness in this life on Earth. See Matthew 5:20. Moreover, receiving grace from God is holiness.
1. Pray often, if not continously.
2. Receive Holy Communion often.
3. Avoid all sin.
- Q4.
- How do I pray.
- A4.
- You do not need to pray in ecstacy as the saints do. Prayer is a mental activity. Prayer is communication with God. You pray to our Lord, Jesus Christ.
You can start by reciting the prayers in the Bible (see page on prayers), and the prayers of your denomination. However, you should think about what each prayer means as you recite it.
You should formulate your own prayers. Listen for a response.
Moreover, make your prayers a visual experience as well as an audio one. Visualize God, the angels and saints in Heaven. Pray with the saints and angels to God.
Do not only pray for your needs, but also pray for the Church and the glory of God on Eearth. Pray for the future. Your goal is Heaven.
Ask other Christians and Saints to pray for you, and pray for other Christians.
Furthermore, pray for your company or corporation.
- Q5.
- How do I study the Bible.
- A5.
- First, study the New Testament Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Study the Bible book by book. Pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit.
Study with a group of Christians and on your own. Study both the Old Testament and the New Testament. See prophecy as a prediction of the future.
Study the Bible in a literal manner, concentrating on the meaning of each chapter and group of verses. Remember, the Bible is the word of God.
Study the Book of Revelation. (The page on Bible study is only a guide, and is intended to give you ideas to start your own study.)
Study the Bible again and again. Be open minded to the correct interpetation.
Questions for 2001:
Q6.
How many angels are there?
A6.
This is a difficult question. The following answer can only be taking as an opinion or a speculation. First, the answer will be given, and then the explanation will be given. The number of good angels is 100 billion or more and the number of bad or fallen angels is 50 billion or more.
From Matthew 18:10 -- "Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven."
Each person has a guardian angel, and since there are about 7 billion people on this earth, the number of good angels must exceed 7 billion. Note that you may have more than one good angel assigned to you.
From Revelation 5:11 -- Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands.
10,000 times 10,000 equals 10 to the eighth power (100 million). Thousands is the third power of 10. Add the eighth power to the third power to equal the eleventh power. 10 to the eleventh power equals 100 billion. There are at least 100 billion good angels (if another thousands is used, then the eight power is added to two times the third power to equal the fourteenth power. 10 to the fourteenth power equals 100 trillion). Futhermore, Revelation 12:4 tells us that 1/3 of the total number of angels are fallen. Consequently, there are at least 50 billion bad or fallen angels.
Q7.
Should I buy a house near a church of my denomination?
A7.
Yes, you should buy a house close to your church. You should do everything for the glory of God. When you buy a home, besides being an investment, it is where you live. If you love God with your whole mind, body and soul, you will want to go to your church often. If your house is close to your church, it will be a joy to go to church instead of a burden.
Q8.
Even though I work with a computer, I essential have a paper shuffling job. What can be done to make my work a testimony to the Lord?
A8.
Hopefully, you are helping someone else do a better job by providing them with information. Be sure to do your "paper shuffling job" in an exemplary manner, and look for a different job or a promotion to a job with more meaning.
Q9.
I am having trouble praying, and I don't believe that I receive an answer from God. Can you help me?
A9.
Prayer takes practice, and you should pray every day. From Matthew 18:2-4 ; Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the Kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven". Practice humility both at home and at work. Remember that God will determine when he will answer your prayers. Consequently, never give up. Make your prayers a mental activity. You can start by reciting "standard" prayers, but the words you say should have some meaning to you. Besides reciting words, you should also visualize in pictures the glory and beauty of Heaven, the glory of God, the lives of saints and angels, the glorious events in the life of Jesus on this Earth (for example look at the Transfiguration), and God's creation. Eliminate noise around you. Moreover, study how other Christians pray, so that you can develop your own style. However, don't expect to pray the same as someone else. Pray is very individualized, and it must be from the heart. When you go to Church, do not just be an observer, you must consentrate on praying and singing, give up useless talking, and worship God. Remember that prayer should be natural to you. In addition, refer to the prayer for workers and executives on the PRAYER page.
Q10.
On the BLESSINGS page you say "Receive a shower of roses from heaven". After September 11, 2001, how can we receive many blessings, or a rose from heaven when there is a lot of terrorism in the world?
A10.
Many blessings can be obtained through prayer, even in the time of war. Please see the prayer of saint Francis on the PRAYER page and the prayer at the bottom of the HOME page. Moreover, Saint Therese, "The Little Flower", said
when see was alive on this earth; "I will spend my heaven doing good on earth. I will let fall a shower of roses." Many People on this earth, have literaly, received many blessings and roses beause of her and the mercy of GOD. If this happens to you, praise Jesus Christ both day and night. Lord, I pray that the viewers of this Web Site, may receive many blessings and may believe intensely in You Jesus, and may take up their cross and follow Jesus Christ. Amen.
Questions for 2002:
- Q11.
- Where were God's holy Angels on September 11? Why didn't these angels from Heaven help to prevent the great tragedies that happen on September 11? It seems that the angels could have prevented the terrorists from boarding the airplanes.
- A11.
- God's Angels from Heaven did help to limit the damage and the death toll. Many people did escape just in time. September 11th was a wake up call for prayer and holiness. God gives free will to all people, even those who are evil. Consequently, evil people, the terrorists, will be engaging in acts of war.
Punishment is a mystery, and we don't completely understand it. However, September 11th can be considered a punishment, with the absence of some of God's protection. Remember that war is the punishment for sin.
From Luke 13:4-5 ; "Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish". Remember to avoid all sin.
Moreover, it is said in the Lord's prayer: "Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven". Remember also to honor the peoples from all nations. From Revelation 7:9 ; "After these things I looked, and behold a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands". See the prayer of saint Francis on the PRAYER page.
Please avoid sin and pray for the great nation of America. Moreover, study the events surrounding the crash in Pennsylvania on September 11th. It has been reported that an open bible was found intact at the crash site.
- Q12.
- Should I carry a Bible with me on a business trip?
- A12.
- Yes. If someone should see you carrying the Bible, it will be a good testimony, and the other person may ask some questions, which might lead to a productive discussion. Moreover, you can study the Bible in your hotel room, instead of watching television, and you can study the Bible at the airport while you wait.
- Q13.
- How much money and assets do I need to retire?
- A13.
- The first step is to determine your income needs at the age of retirement(don't under estimate). Your home should be paid off when you retire and you should be free of debt. Also you should be age 60 or older.
Next, subtract from your yearly income at retirement, the yearly income from social security and one-half of your fixed pension in a yearly amount.
The remainder will have to be made up of income from investments, savings, annuities and your 401K plan.
To determine the total value of the necessary investments, savings, annuities and 401K, assume that you will draw from these sources 4% of the initial total value each year, adjusted for inflation each year. The idea is to have the money outlast your life. Therefore, you need the total value of these assets to equal 25 times the remainder of your yearly income needs.
Also your investments should be mostly tax deferred, so you are not paying taxes each year on the total value of your investments. The above calculation assumes that your investments will earn tax deferred 1 to 2 % more than the inflation rate, and that you will draw the 4%, adjusted for inflation, each year for 30 to 35 years. Also the above does not include extra medical expenses and long term care.
- Q14.
- How often should I pray?
- A14.
- You should pray not only on each Sunday, but on each and every day. Moreover, you should pray several times each day. Remember, prayer is a joy, and you will be communicating with Heaven. When you pray by yourself, pray in a quiet environment if possible.
- Q15.
- Should a company lay off employees to increase profits?
- A15.
- It is not right to lay off employees to increase profits, especially when the employees will have a hard time finding new employment. However, each division of the company should be profitable and not losing money.
Questions for 2003:
- Q16.
- When was Jesus Christ born?
- A16.
- Jesus was born in 5 B.C., most likely in November of 5 B.C. Jesus was 30 years old when he started his public ministry in early 27 A.D. Moreover, Herod died in the spring of 4 B.C., and Herod ordered the slaughter of the babies zero to two years old. Consequently, Jesus was born before Herod's death.
- Q17.
- Is it right for a company to lay off higher paid employees and hire lower paid employees at the same time for the same position or job?
- A17.

- A20.
- See the page on Heaven. The saints and angels are in Heaven. The saints of all ages are the examples that you should follow and imitate; the saints possessed eternal life on this earth. Pray that angels will guide you in your everyday life, and keep evil away. Look at the saints, and study their personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who is the source of salvation. In addition, see the page on Saints and the page on Angels.
Questions for 2004:
- Q21.
- You state in the prayer section that "the key to salvation is prayer". I thought that one was saved by accepting Jesus Christ as personal savior and lord.
- A21.
- That may be correct that you are saved by accepting Jesus Christ as personal savior and lord. However, to be sincere, you must love God with your whole heart, mind, body, and soul. The evidence is that you pray each day to Jesus Christ. Moreover, you should pray continuously; consequently, prayer is the key to salvation. Notice that salvation is not based on works or being a good person.
Consequently, pray! pray! pray!
- Q22.
- What are the forms of prayer?
- A22.
- The basic forms of prayer are Worship, Petition, Thanksgiving and praise. Petition is needs for myself and others, Learning the will of God for myself and others, insight, forgiveness, and faith. A simple definition of prayer is: Prayer is a surge of heart; it is a simple look turned towards Heaven; it is a cry of recognition and love. Prayer is communication with God.
The types of prayer are vocal and mental. Vocal prayer can be either group or individual. Vocal prayer includes worship service, prayer service, and small group prayer using traditional prayers or those made up by the leader. Mental prayer consists of meditation on the word of God (Scripture), the work of God in Scripture or in my and other peoples lives, the revelation of the Holy Spirit; and contemplation on the awareness or presence of God, the mysteries of God, Heaven, and the glory of God.
- Q23.
- How do I prepare for Eternity?
- A23.
- You start to prepare for Eternity by thinking of Heaven (focus for a moment on the Transfiguration). See the page on Heaven. Pray each day. In addition, know the purpose in this life that God gave to you. Don't become attached to the things of this world; However, make good use of them for the glory of God. Moreover, help others get to Heaven. Finally, see everything that is good as the glory of God and keep the presence of God in mind.
- Q24.
- What is Grace?
- A24.
- Grace is a supernatural gift of God; Grace is a favor from God that is given to respond to the call of God. Moreover, Grace is participation in the life of God; consequently, Grace is like the intensity of God. The more Grace that you have, the closer you are to God. See the page on Happiness.
- Q25.
- What is the importance of water as stated in the Bible?
- A25.
- John the Baptist, baptized in the Jordan river. He baptized by emersion and this was for the repentance of sin. Jesus choose fishermen for his disciples. Jesus was close to the sea of Galilee most of the time. Jesus even walked on water once (he even calmed the wind and waves). Jesus also healed by telling a man to go wash at a certain place. Moreover, in the gospel of John, Jesus tells us that he is the living water, and that nobody will thirst after drinking this water.
In the Old Testament, Noah built an arc to survive the great flood. Moses and his people escaped the egyptians by going through the Red sea when the waters were separated. The waters returned and drowned the egyptians. Was the separation of waters a great miracle of God or can we see any thing close in nature? Great tides in the Bay of Fundy can cause boats that are on dry land, to be in water in a few minutes ready to take off.
Baptism plays a major role in most churches. It is the starting point of a Christian. In addition, water has been a source of healing (by God) throughout the ages.
Questions for 2005:
- Q26.
- Is the Tsunami that happened in the Indian Ocean right after Christmas of Biblical proportions?

- Q29.
- How am I aware of the Holy Spirit's presence in my life?
- A29.
- Think how you have been inspired to do something that has had a great meaning to someone else or yourself. Have you taught another person about the Kingdom of God? Questions for 2006:
- Q31.
- What are the differences in the Genealogy of Jesus in Matthew and in Luke?
- A31.
- The Genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1:2-16 follows the line of Joseph, while the Genealogy of Jesus in Luke 3:23-38 follows the line of the Virgin Mary. Both Joseph and Mary descend from the house of David.
- Q32.
- Where there any miracles that happened during the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross?
- A32.
- Luke 23:45 says "Then the sun was darkened and the veil in the temple was torn in two." Matthew 27:51-52 says that there was an earthquake and saints rose when graves were opened. The sun was darkened was a miracle. Since there was a new moon, a natural solar eclipse of the sun was not possible. If the sun was darkened in the middle of the day by a solar eclipse, then it had to be a miracle. Also when the sun was darkened in the middle of the day, the stars should have shined, just as if it were night time. Think of the confusion that was caused by the darkness during the middle of the day, the veil in the temple torn in two parts, and the earthquake. All three were miracles.
- Q33.
- What does the Bible say about the relatives of Jesus?
- A33.
- In John 19:25, it says that the Virgin Mary's sister was also named Mary (wife of Cleopas). One of Jesus's cousins was James the Less, whose father was Alphaeus (Luke 6:15) and whose mother was also named Mary (Mark 15:40) (wife of Alphaeus and daughter of Cleopas). Jude was a brother of James the less (Jude 1:1). Both James the less and Jude were Apostles.
- Q34.
- What are the most important books in the Bible?
- A34.
- The most important books are the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and the Book of Revelation. Remember that all scripture is inspired.
- Q35.
- Why are the stories of the birth of Jesus different in Matthew and Luke?
- A35.
- Just as the genealogy is different, so is the account of the birth of Jesus. Matthew tells the birth of Jesus from Joseph's perspective and Luke tells the birth of Jesus from Mary's perspective. Both are correct.
Questions for 2007:
- Q36.
- Does the Holy Bible contain a complete set of instructions.
- A36.
- No. The Bible does not contain everything. The Bible contains many instructions of Jesus Christ and the Apostles, and revelation, but not everything.
- Q37.
- Why did Jesus perform miracles?

- Jesus performed miracles so that people would believe. The Apostles were blessed with the gift of miracles, and performed many miracles as given in Acts of The Apostles. Down through the ages, saints have performed miracles, even though these miracles are less common today.
- Q38.
- What should I see when I go to church?
- A38.

- Q39.
- What is your favorite Bible verse?
- A39.

Questions for 2008:
- Q41.
- Did anyone see the resurrection of Jesus Christ?
- A41.
- No. However, Jesus did appear to the women and the 12 apostles after the resurrection. The resurrection may have been invisible or the light and radiation may have been too great for anyone to behold, but the Bible does not give us any clues.
- Q42.
- Was Jesus being evasive when the apostles asked him at the ascention (Acts 1:1-11): "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel".
- A42.

- Q43.
- Is revelation only given to the apostles?
- A43.
- No. Revelation can be given by the Holy Spirit to any Christian. However, the revelation given is very limited, and someone else may receive a different revelation. Hense Christians need to have a community.

Also, remember that economic crisis will be a characteristic of the Tribulation, so keep a close watch.
Questions for 2009:
- Q46.

- Q47.
- What will help me to become Holy?
- A47.

- Q49.
- What book of the Bible should a person study if they are eagerly awaiting the return of Jesus Christ?
- A49.
- The Book of Revelation.
- Q50.
- What are the four kingdoms in the Book of Daniel for the four metals of the statue?
- A50.
- The four kingdoms (Chapter 2) are Bablylonian for Gold, Medo-Persian for silver, Greek for bronze, and Roman for iron. In Chapter 7, Babylonia is the Lion, Medo-Persia is the Bear, Greece is the Leopard, and Rome is the terrifying beast. Alexander the Great represents the Leopard for speed, since he established the Greek empire by capturing nations at great speed. Notice that Greece is not the last kingdom. Daniel in Chapter 5 (Hand writing on the Wall) combines the Medes and Persians into one kingdom.
Questions for 2010
- Q51.
- Should all churches display a cross on the top of the church building?
- A51.
- Yes. All Christians should believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Otherwise, there would not be any eternal life.
- Q52.
- Jesus said to lay up treasures in Heaven. How do I obtain treasures in Heaven?
- A52.
- You obtain treasures in Heaven by communicating with Heaven. In other words, prayer is the key to treasures in Heaven. Also do not be like the rest of the people on earth; you live here, but you must spread the kingdom of God. Concentrate on the life of Jesus, saints, and angels in the Holy Bible and do not be attached too much to earthly things.
- Q53.
- Who will not go to Heaven?
- A53.
- The gospel of Matthew says that evil doers and those that cause others to sin will be cast into Hell. By praying, you can avoid leading other to apostacy or sin. We must be careful when giving other people advice. Encourage others to pray and to go to church.
- Q54.
- I am not prepared if Jesus Christ would return tomorrow? What should I do?
- A54.
- 2 Thessalonians 2:2 says not to be shaken in mind. Do not worry, but be prepared for his return. Watch for it and expect to do what Jesus Christ tells you when he comes. - Q55.
- When Jesus Christ returns, what are the first actions?
- A55.
- Jesus will return on the Mount of Olives, just as He asscended into Heaven. There will be present a vast number of angels and saints, some of them resurrected. Jesus will enter the Holy City through the Golden Gate, which is now sealed. Those who are alive at the time will be either taken or left according to Matthew 24. It is expected that everyone will see his return as a very bright event in the sky.
Questions for 2011
- Q56.
- What happens if my church does not spread the gospel?
- A56.
- You should spread the gospel anyway. The fate is given in the story of the vineyard (Matthew 21:33-36). The kingdom of God will be taken away and given to those that can yield fruit. The Holy Spirit will make sure that the gospel is spread by choosing those that will cary out the mission of spreading the gospel. The goal is heaven, and you need to bring your neighbor to heaven (salvation).
- Q57.
- How accurate are translations of the Bible?
- A57.
- For the most part very accurate. A lot of research by many people cross checking each other helps to keep the Bible accurate. You should rely on the word of God in the Bible.
- Q58.
- Who will go to Hell?
- A58.
- Matthew 13:41 says those that cause sin and those who do evil. Give a good example so that you do not cause others to sin. Pray each day and go to church each sunday. Do not approve of other people's sin. Also do your work each day in a complete and timely manner. Love God with your whole mind and soul.
- Q59.
- when do I receive the Holy Spirit?
- A59.
- This has happened different ways in the Bible. It happened at Penticost for the Appostles. It happens when hands are laid on. It also happens at other times. The Virgin Mary received the Holy Spirit when the angel Gabriel announced to her that she was to bear Jesus Christ. Elizabeth and John the Baptist received the Holy Spirit from the Virgin Mary when she visited Elizabeth. Simeon received the Holy Spirit according to Luke 2, as he was waiting. Prayer is the key.
- Q60.
- How does the kingdom of God move forward?
- A60.
- It is simple. What ever God decides cannot be stopped. This has happened all through salvation history, both old and new testaments, and will happen in the future. It happened at Christmas time when the wise men met Herod the Great. Even though Herod the Great ordered the killing of young children, he did not kill the baby Jesus and baby John the Baptist, and Herod the Great died himself soon after in the spring of 4 BC. The holy family fleed to Egypt and Elizabeth and John the Baptist escaped in the dessert.
Questions for 2012
- Q61.
- What should a person focus on each day?
- A61.
- Focus on the things above and not on the things on earth, according to Colossians 3:2. Your life is in Jesus Christ, who rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven. Pray each day. Use the things on earth for living, but you belong to Jesus Christ.
